Accomplishment

I was able to make designs changes that have results in savings of million dollars.

At this moment I am running a construction company and a engineering firm doing serval projects in Bonaire and Curacao.

Also I am the owner of two concrete products manufactioning factories. One of the companies is making the colonial cement floor tiles and the other concrete road pavers.

Work description: Project Management of the Royal Dutch Tax Office Building in Playa which building is better known as the Giro & Ennia building. Coordination of all the construction activities to prepare the building to be open before 10-10-10. For this job I have been approved by the Royal Dutch Tax officials.

Bonairian Building Consortium B.V. (Owner)

On Bonaire.
Work description: We have done the remodeling of the Van Eps Kunneman & Van Doorne Lawyer office at the Gobernador N. Debrotweg #31.

In November 2008 I started with a design to built a Unmanned Aerial Vehicle for Aerial photography & Video filming. The UAV was finished in April 2009 and is operarting now in Bonaire as the base and can cover the whole world. With this UAV services can be provided to Law enforcement, real estate, construction projects, wildlife research and many more applications. This project has been temporary suspended due to air traffic regulations.

Job description: Doing structural design of steel structure and project management of the Florida International Univeristy Golden Panthers Stadium which project was a design built. (15 million dollar).

Project Management of the expansion of the Miami International Airport known as the North Terminal Expansion Program. (12 billion dollar).

Project Manager / Design Engineer.

Working period: Nov 2006 till Jan 18, 2007.
In the USA.
Job description: Preparing several projects like Macy’s South Beach, Macy’s Orlando and Rainbow projects. All these projects are designed in full 3-D with AutoCAD, prepared and cut with CNC technology and planned with MS Office for installation purposes. (10 million dollar).

Running my own companies in the Caribbean:

In 1996 I have started my own engineering and construction company executing the following projects:

During April 2005-October 2006.
Architectural, engineering design and marketing of a 86 villas, Condo, restaurant, shops and pool resort which project. (40 million dollar)

During October 2003-April 2005.
The engineering and construction of an apartment complex including diving retail/photo shop and restaurant in Bonaire. (2 million dollar)

The engineering and construction of 5 townhouses and a handicap compound in Bonaire. (1,2 million dollar)

During August 2002-October 2003.
The construction of the Jet Fuel Facility in Bonaire. This consists of two 660,000 US gallons tanks and a Jetty for the fuel Barge. (10 million dollar) The jetty was a EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) project. (2 million dollar)

During October 2000-August 2002.
I have introduced a new construction method into the Netherlands Antilles. This system originated from Canada called the Royal Building System. I have built several social habitats in both Curacao and Bonaire. (1 million dollar)

Engineering of the expansion at the International Flamingo Airport Bonaire and the Catering Building to accommodate KLM transit passengers from Europe to South America and back. (5 million dollar)

During April 1999-October 2000.
The complete design and execution of the main IBM office for the Caribbean in Curacao. This design process was done together with IBM Canada Ltd. This project was executed with 25 workers. (10 million dollar)

During January 1997-April 1999.
In 1997 I have supervised and managed a restoration project of two Old Dutch guesthouses on the Island of Curacao. (1,5 million dollar)

Building of a resort existing of 6 tropical bungalows at a tourist resort called Cas Abao in Curacao. Managing 20 workers. (1/2 million dollar)

My engineering company was hired by a Dutch company called Tebodin Antilles to supervise and guide the execution of a Mega Cruise Terminal at Otrabanda Curacao (11 million dollar) and also to engineered several civil projects on the refinery premises. (35 million dollar)

Contractual jobs: May 1991 – September 1996.
Structural engineering designs for several public buildings for utilities on the Islands of Curaçao, Aruba, Bonaire and St. Martin.

Technical Education

University: Higher Professional Education Structural Engineering at the Amsterdam Polytechnic in Holland.

University: Higher Professional Education Civil Engineering at the Tilburg Polytechnic in Holland.

Title in January 1988. Bachelor degree.

Final instruction: The design of the extension of the railway station of Amsterdam Rai.

This exists of a steel timber-framed construction, a central platform (reinforced and pre-stressed reinforced concrete) with on both sides a railway track platform which were also executed in reinforced and pre-stressed reinforced concrete.

The abutments were executed in Terre Armee (reinforced ground).
